The ingredients needed to make KOFTA CURRY!:
- Get Step 1: Kofta/ meat balls
- Prepare 500 g beef mince(fat free)
- Take 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Take 1/2 cup bhona Chana(make powder)
- Get 1 tsp red chili powder
- Take 1 tsp garam masala powder
- Take 1 tsp salt
- Get 3 tbs coriander leaves
- Make ready 1 medium onion
- Get 1/2 infer
- Make ready 1/2 inch ginger piece
- Take 2-3 green chilies
- Prepare Curry/shorba
- Prepare 1/2 cup oil
- Make ready 1 large onion paste
- Prepare 1 bay leaf
- Get 1 small cinnamon stick
- Take 3-4 cloves(loong)
- Make ready 1 black cardamom(bari Elaichi)
- Make ready 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- Make ready 1 tsp red chili powder
- Make ready 1/2 tsp turmeric
- Get 1/2 tsp salt(or to taste)
- Prepare 1 tsp coriander powder
- Make ready 2 tomatoes(finely chopped or make a purée)
- Prepare 1 tbsp tomato paste
- Get 2 & 1/2 cups water
Serve mix vegetable kofta curry with chapatis, naan or jeera rice or plain paratha. Typically, these kofta balls are then tossed in a cream based curry and enjoyed with a bread (like naan) or rice. Steps to make KOFTA CURRY!:
- For koftas/ meat balls: Add beef mince, 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste, 1 tsp red chili powder, 1 tsp garam masala powder and 1 tsp salt, grind it.
- Then grind coriander, ginger piece, green chilies and onion separately.
- Add bhona Chana powder and coriander onion mixture in beef mince, n grind it well as shown in picture.
- Now grease you hands with lil oil and make koftas/ meat balls. It will make 15 kofta/ meatballs. Keep them in fridge for 10 minutes.
- For curry: Add 1/2 cup oil in a pan. Add 1 large onion paste and sauté it for 4-5 mins.
- Then add the whole spices(bay leaf, cloves, black cardamom, cinnamon) and 1 tsp ginger garlic paste,1 tsp red chili powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp salt(or to taste) and 1 tsp coriander powder. Sauté it for 2-3 min.
- Then add 2 chopped/ puréed tomatoes, 1 tbsp tomato paste, mix.
- Add 1/2 cup water. Cook it until oil separates.(basically masala bhonna hy)
- Add 2 & 1/2 cups of water, cook it for 10 mins on low flame.
- When the water starts boiling gently add koftas. And let it cook for 15-20 minutes on low flame.
- PS: don’t use spoon to turn the meatballs, only tilt a pan.
- Garnish with green chilies, coriander and sprinkle some garam masala powder. ENJOY IT WITH CHAPATI OR NAAN😋
- You can make the meat balls and freeze them in a ziplock bag.
